Order of the Static Temple is the new project of Montana based studio wizard Rob Robinson (BOL, Hate Dept). Their recent album “Rise In Fire” on Negative Gain has been well received and supported by a series of live shows including SXSW in 2022. Featuring the guitar work of Matthew Setzer (touring guitarist for Skinny Puppy, Ohgr), and the visual work and costumes of Damsel in the Dollhouse.

Musician and Visual Artist Penny Courtney (Spectremen, The Von Vons, Hexotica, The New Synthetics, Hypnagogic State, Tenguzame, The Neutrons) has been working creatively on various art and musical projects since the late 1980’s, including an early extensive experimental electronic recording project with Lisa King, Threshold. Penny is a founding creator of No Big Wheel Records and Sashimmy, which features her blend of electronica, industrial, psychobilly, dance, cut-ups, and post-punk music, including the collaborative projects The Von Vons and Hexotica. Penny is a curator, interviewer, and documentarian of independent cassette culture, along with a core group of musicians Andy Lonsdale, Garry Bradbury, Mitch Jones, and Ian Andrews. Many of these artists are in the box set MAGNETOPHONICS: AUSTRALIAN UNDERGROUND MUSIC 1978-1984, a seven LP survey of Australian experimental, industrial, and post-punk released in 2016 on Vinyl-on-Demand records.


[4] Browning Mummery - Circling the Body

Browning Mummery is the main recording project of Brisbane based artist Andy Lonsdale. Formed in Sydney in 1983 there were soon several cassette releases on his own boxmusik label. Over the years Browning Mummery has worked with many collaborators such as Max Hawk (Electric Tipi Collective), John Murphy (Whirlywirld, Krang, SPK), Robert Cumings (ismISM, Acutal Remains), and featured on this special new track “Circling the Body (7 Hells mix)” the guitar work of Michael Sheridan. Considered to be the godfather of Dark Wave music in Australia, Browning Mummery has been releasing hypnotic and challenging music for almost 40 years.

Scattered Order was formed in 1979 by Mitchell Jones, Michael Tee, and Patrick Gibson and initially released music on the trio’s highly influential record label M Squared. In the mid-1980s they moved to the Volition label, and released several albums before starting again with their own label called Rather Be Vinyl. After a hiatus in the 2000s Jones and Tee reconvened Scattered Order with Shane Fahey (Makers of the Dead Travel Fast), and have continued to release albums and tour. Their most recent album is 2022’s excellent “Where is the windy gun?” For this compilation a remix of the track “Anti Freeze” from the 2013 album “Planet Scrape” was chosen. The remix was done by Michael Tee under his long running solo project ACRA (A Cloakroom Assembly).

Annularity is a collaboration between Lisa King and Jeff Calder, focused on electronic analog recording and vintage instruments, recorded at No Big Wheel studios in Atlanta.

Recorded at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis, TN. Album Gatefold - Fender Nashville Telecaster. Legend has it that in 1921, a 12 year old girl named Mary died in a car crash in front of the theatre, but her spirit never left. Guests have claimed to behold Mary sitting quietly in the balcony of her favorite seat, C5, wearing a 1920's style white dress, or dancing in the hallways.

A curator of local culture and synchronicity, Atlanta musician Albert Gresens (Engine, The Jung Generation, Album Gatefold, Alien God Noise Transmissions, The Heavy Light Experiment) brings his love of analog guitar pedals, drone, trance, and psychedelia to a list of releases on Sashimmy. Records. Albert has released several singles under the name Album Gatefold, alongside works with Nick Trakas a.k.a. Cinder (Alien God Noise Transmissions) and Welsh musician Kelvyn Williams (Wrecsam / Hornsea’s Mwydu, The Heavy Light Experiment).

Galaxy Fuzz Band is the project of Sydney based artist Matthew Bright (Distant Locust, Buried Signal Archive), which have self-released an album and a mini-album. Guest musicians on the project include Shane Fahey (Makers of the Dead Travel Fast, Scattered Order), John Prendergast (MK Ultra & The Assassins of Light, Institute of Applied Uselessness, Brain), and Garry Bradbury (Severed Heads, Hiroshima Chair, Size). The track “Monsignor Blood” is taken from the 2011 mini-album “Too Much Subconscious”.

The Hot Place is an American rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 2011. The band was formed in 2011 by Lisa King (vocals, bass, keyboards, percussion) and Jeff Calder (lead guitar). Jeff Calder is a founding member of the notable American new-wave band The Swimming Pool Q's. Lisa King previously played with 1990's Alt-Rock band Unminded, (guitar, vocals), and in the 2000s she played with celebrated Atlanta bands The Swimming Pool Q's (keyboards, percussion) and The Glenn Phillips Band (keyboards), featuring influential guitar soloist and composer Glenn Phillips. Mike Lynn, founding member of 1990's Atlanta college-rock band Betty's Not A Vitamin, joined the lineup in 2012 on rhythm guitar. Robert Schmid, the former drummer and current bassist for The Swimming Pool Q's rounded out the lineup on drums in 2013.The band is currently working on a self-titled second album, which should be released at the end of 2022. Lisa is the co-creator of No Big Wheel Records and Sashimmy, collaborating with Penny Courtney.

Recorded live at the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Centre El Paso, TX. Featuring The Album Gatefold All-Star Band: Album Gatefold: Fender Rio Grande Telecaster Deluxe; Al Green - Fender Precision Bass; Alice Green - Roland Juno DS Keyboard; Agnes Gantz - Ludwig Drumkit, Zildjian cymbals. Visitors of the Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Centre have reported unusual phenomena, ranging from unexplainable floating orbs and shadows, objects moving on their own, and a chilling roster of specters.
